Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting one of our fantastic customers, 7Formation for a Lunch & Learn session – a chance to connect directly with their staff and share the exciting story behind their solar transformation. Earlier this year we installed 200 panels as part of this commercial solar installation, and this was a big moment for the company transitioning to clean energy for the first time.

This merited a chance to step back, to understand and appreciate the impact – so we were invited to host a session for staff to really celebrate this achievement, and the journey to getting here.

As part of the session, we explored why solar energy is more than just a smart investment – it’s a vital part of the global shift toward tackling climate change. With rising temperatures and increased pressure on energy systems, the need for clean, renewable energy has never been more urgent. Businesses have the chance to make a huge impact, given the resources they consume and solar is one of the most effective tools we have for reducing carbon emissions and securing a greener, more sustainable future.

During the talk, we shared live data from the building’s solar system. Staff were amazed to learn just how much clean energy the panels are now generating every day – and even more impressed by the financial and environmental benefits.

• Over 20 tonnes of carbon saved each year – the same as planting 19,250 trees over the lifetime of the panels

One of the most powerful messages from the session was that everyone has a part to play. By working in a solar-powered building, staff are directly contributing to climate action. Whether they’re in operations, finance, customer service or logistics – their workplace is actively cutting emissions every single day.

We were also delighted to premiere a brand-new promotional video, featuring the company’s director, Jak Garner, who spoke passionately about the decision to go solar and the positive impact it’s already having. Climate Change and Solar in the Bigger Picture

As part of the day we did talk about climate change and how energy is the second biggest cause of emissions in the UK. This makes solar a really important piece of the puzzle to reducing our impact on climate change – both as businesses, and individual households.

We work with Northants Carbon Literacy who offer climate change accreditation for businesses and individuals in the Northamptonshire area, and their courses are usually £25pp but for customers we can run these courses on a discounted rate. This is one of the cheapest eco-accreditations a business can get, and a great thing to shout about, whilst also upskilling staff on a really important topic.
